Cheronisos is ideal for those who cherish isolation combined with relaxing, quality swimming and delicious seafood. It is the northern seaside village with a few permanent residents (almost 40!!) 15 kilometers from Apollonia. Cheronisos belongs to the wider region of Artemonas and is famous for its traditional fish taverns and its potteries. It is named after the Greek word for the peninsula, “Chersonisos”, which refers to an infertile and uncultivated part of land, surrounded by sea and connected to the mainland on one side only.
